The Hat Masters Certification Program is a comprehensive training experience designed to teach you the craftsmanship and business fundamentals of the custom hat industry.

This program combines 100 online training modules with a 3-day in-person intensive at Hat Masters HQ in Denver, giving you both the knowledge and the hands-on experience needed to confidently shape and work with felt hats.

Online Training (100 Modules)

Before attending the in-person training, students gain access to 100 step-by-step pre-recorded modules taught by two experienced hat professionals:

• Glenn Orms — Owner of The Cow Lot

• Parker Orms — Owner of Hats by Parker Thomas and American Lore

These modules walk you through the fundamentals of working with felt hats, including:

• Cleaning and restoring worn or vintage hats
• Enhancing and customizing pre-shaped hats
• Shaping open crown hats into a variety of classic and modern styles
• Understanding the tools, materials, and techniques used by professional hat shapers

The online curriculum allows you to learn at your own pace and prepare for the hands-on experience in Denver.

3-Day Hands-On Training in Denver

Students then travel to Hat Masters HQ in Denver, Colorado for a 3-day immersive shaping intensive with Parker and Glenn.

During this training, you will:

• Work directly with professional hat shaping equipment, including Jiffy and Hoffman steamers
• Learn hands-on shaping techniques from experienced hat professionals
• Shape five hats on your personal hat size during the course
• Practice cleaning, restoring, and enhancing felt hats
• Receive live coaching and feedback throughout the process

In addition to craftsmanship, the program also covers business development for hat professionals, including:

• Pricing and positioning your hats
• Structuring profitable hat shaping services
• Event-based hat bars and private appointments
• Building a sustainable hat business

By the end of the program, you’ll have both the technical skills and the business framework needed to begin offering professional hat shaping services or grow your existing hat business.
